An American Tuner has gone about recreating a 1967 Shelby Mustang GT which was seen at SEMA this month.
The GT500R is a recreation rather than being a restoration of sorts, and is fitted with modern technology which include an overdrive tranmissions and coil-over suspension.
The specification:
- Hand-built 427 cubic inch (7litre) with 545 bhp
- Tremec manual gearbox
- Carroll Shelby signature seats
- Shelby 427 17-inch wheels
There are 1967 door panels, dash and trim to keep the recreation fairly authentic.
Prices start at a whooping: $119,000
The Oklahoma-based Classic Recreations is promising a more powerful Venom variant for next year, with 780 bhp and a starting price of $199,000.

If we’re honest, we aren’t a huge fan of recreations here at R&CC.
