Vintage cars to cruise the Coast

Vintage cars to cruise the Coast
YOU will probably hear them coming before you see them - more than 100 veteran, classic and vintage cars - some from as far back as 1905, and they will travel through Fraser Coast towns this weekend. In total 120 collector vehicles will be in the region taking part in the 2012 RACQ HMC Rally, which is held June 9 to 11.

Maryborough District Antique Motor Club secretary Pat Barbeler said local car enthusiasts would be out in force supporting the event.

She said the rally provided an example for people to experience the region's beauty, travelling planned routes through the historical parts of Maryborough, and visiting lustrous Hervey Bay beaches. Ms Barbeler said organisers had 18 veteran cars - cars made before December 31, 1919 - with the category's star being a spectacular 1905 De Dion tourer.
