With news of the Aston Martin Bulldog coming up for sale, we thought we should our appreciation of this late 70s wedge by making it our SOTD.
The Bulldog was styled by William Towns and was used as a one-off test bed produced by Aston Martin Lagonda Ltd in 1979. The production run was intended to be limited to a maximum of 25. It was code named DPK9 after a Doctor Who character and built at Aston’s Newport Pagnell factory, but was left hand drive.
The distinctive shape of the ‘dog gives it almost a Lotus Esprit S1 look, or be it a less refined version and is powered by a 5.3l twin-turbo V8 producing 700bhp.
