It has been revealed that the Lotus F1 team will be facing legal over using Team Lotus name next year.
Proton, the manufacturer who owns Lotus road cars has challenged the team boss Tony Fernandes right to use the old name.
It has been said that Tony Fernandes has no right to use the Lotus associated name for the 2011 season.
In a Proton press release there was a mention of protecting the Lotus name from the Group Lotus including preventing Mr Fernandes companies attempts to access it.
Lotus did announce at the Singapore Grand Prix that it did purchase the Team Lotus name from David Hunt, who is the brother of Formula one champion James Hunt.
Hunt managed to acquire the name after the team collpsed in 1994.
